I only want a few lessons before I go to France - could you help with that?

Of course! Everything we do is tailored to the needs of our customers. Some people only come for a small number of sessions, others having been coming for years!

I'd love to be able to ask for things when I go Spain but I've never felt comfortable enough to actually do it. Could you help me to develop my confidence?

You are not alone! Even if you understand the language, it's quite normal to be less confident when speaking it - this is true for many language learners. With us, you can learn at your own pace and have the chance to practise without an audience, apart from me (and the dog!).

My daughter really wants to do German A-Level but her school says they won't be running a course next year. Help!

We have helped a lot of people in this situation. We have students who study a language at A-Level through us alongside the other subjects they do at school. We can also liaise with the school or college with regard to timetabling, curriculum, exam board and exam entry.

I did French A-Level so I'm already fairly confident with the language but I just don't get the chance to use it these days which means I'm always rusty when I go out there.

Sounds like you might benefit from French conversation sessions to maintain your language skills - we can help with that.

I've wanted to learn Spanish for some time but my job means I've never been able to commit to a regular slot on an evening course. Could I do lessons 'as and when' with you?

Yes! We have people who arrange lessons on an ad hoc basis who find that this approach allows them to finally learn a language in a way that suits them.

My son is now home schooled. He always enjoyed French at school but missed a lot of sessions. Could you help him to catch up and then make progress again?

We work with home schooled students and always frame the lessons in a way which works for the individual whether that is in face to face lessons or via remote sessions. It is not unusual for them to have gaps but we can help with that.

I don't really want to commit to a series of lessons until I know if I am going to carry on.

We don't ask for clients to pay up front - just pay for the lessons you have done. Also, although many customers like to have a regular slot, we also have people who prefer to arrange their lessons one at a time, depending on their availability. Why not arrange an initial lesson and see how you feel after that?

My husband and I both want to have Spanish lessons but I'm fairly confident whereas he's only a beginner.

We have seen this many times with couples and small groups! Once we've met you both, we can get a feel for where you are both starting, where you both want to get to and how we can then support that.

I travel to Germany regularly for work. I want to learn 'standard' German but I could also do with covering some of our industry vocabulary so that I can speak to our customers - I've bought a German dictionary but it seems very limited in that regard.

We have often had people wanting to learn a language (or improve their language skills) for business and have developed some very specific glossaries for them during our sessions. I've learned about things I never knew existed!

I've already got the basics but I'd like to get better and maybe even study for a qualification.

This is one of the advantages of using a tutor rather than an 'off the shelf' course. We can build on what you already have and develop your skills in the ways that are most of interest to you and at a pace that suits you. We can also help you work towards a suitable qualification, should that be of interest, be that GCSE, A-Level or something else.
